I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and now am working on my Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on religion, criminology, and forensic accounting. I'm currently working towards my Certified Bookkeeper credential.
I studied a year for my Certified Professional Horticulturist in Washington State. Though I didn't get it then, I prefer working for the agricultural and horticultural industries. When I switched to accounting, I wanted to stay in the industry.
I grew up in Western Washington, and moved to Alabama in my early 20's. It proved quite a wild ride! Though I grew up well-off, that was stripped essentially bare when I lived in Alabama on my own. I lived well below the poverty line for several years.
I resolved to go back to school and get my degree. I graduated; but I can't forget where I've come from.
My strengths are in my abilities to explain to people what is going on with their finances, as well as being detail-oriented so that everything will get accomplished:
1. I can explain financial concepts in layman's terms because I was a layman.
2. I can relate to clients who are struggling because I have struggled, too.
3. I can follow-through with my word because I know what kind of a difference it makes when you do.
4. I continuously improve and I'm an aggressive problem solver. I treat people with dignity, and I'm truly empathetic.
